Double cause for celebration with Encore d'Or Stakes success

Encore d'Or's success in the Listed Pepsi Max Scarborough Stakes over 5f at Doncaster yesterday was a timely reminder to trainers and owners just before the main yearling sales that Newsells Park Stud continues to breed high-class winners.

It was a double cause for celebration for Newsells, as Encore d'Or is also a half-brother to our dual Gr.1 King's Stand winner and Gr.1 sprint sire Equiano.

Run at a blistering pace this five-year-old made his challenge in the final furlong to win by a length for trainer Robert Cowell and owners Mrs Morley, G Johnson and owner/breeder Newsells Park Stud.

Jockey Ryan Moore said: "Encore d'Or has shown a high-level of form on the all-weather and the flat course seemed to suit him."

A son of Oasis Dream, he has now won seven races with this being his first Stakes success having also finished third in a Listed race at Deauville in August.

As well as being a sibling to Equiano, Encore d'Or is also a half-brother to Stakes winner and dual Gr.3 placed Evita Peron. Evita Peron is now part of the Newsells Park Stud broodmare band as is their dam Entente Cordiale.
